100% Natural Insect Repellent in a light cream base.

INGREDIENTS: Water, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Pogostemon Cablin (Patchouli) Oil, Backhousia Citriodora (Lemon Myrtle) Oil, Sodium Chloride (Sea Salt), Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Oil, Xanthomonas Campestris (Xanthan) Gum, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Silver Citrate, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Extract.

LABEL DIRECTIONS: Apply liberally to entire body, hair, ears, neck & face avoiding eye contact. If eye contact should occur, immediately flush with water and seek medical attention if needed. (Note: If eye contact should occur you may feel a slight stinging because of the peppermint oil, but stinging would be temporary, and quick to subside.)

INTERESTING RANTS & RAVES: I originally created this product for my crew and I out of sheer necessity. Late nights hanging out watching DVD's in the tropics, there's bound to be an occasional mosquito floating on through our one walled "living room" in search of an unprotected victim. It started out very rough and simple with just a high percentage of peppermint essential oil in water. A bit too "refreshing" and inconvenient for the masses, worked well though. After a few tests with different essential oils and bases the current aromatically-awesome smooth and creamy blend emerged. I actually think it is one of my finer blends and it just so happens its super-effective at ridding you of dem-darn-skeeters.

I think Alila Hotels and Resorts would also agree. They liked this product so much that they decided to put it in every minibar in every room of both of their resort properties. I mean not that they have any mosquitoes there or anything (just like they didn't have any ants that liked the body oil room amenities, hahaha.) But in case they do, help is available in the minibar 24 hours a day. SensatiaĖs Botanical Bug-Off also makes an effective sunburn-relief treatment. So make sure to take it with you on vacation in case your hotel doesnĖt have it in the minibar. Look for the baby version coming soon.

SPECIFIC TO THIS PRODUCT: Sensatia Botanicals Botanical Bug-Off is a perfect blend of Lavender, Lemon Myrtle, Rosemary, Patchouli, and Peppermint essential oils specifically chosen for their insect repelling properties. Botanical Bug-Off is so delightful and beneficial to the skin you may find yourself using it even when there aren't any insects to repel. Here's why:

Lavender essential oil is antibacterial, pain relieving, healing for wounds, deodorizing, antiseptic, fungicidal, rejuvenating, and anti-inflammatory. It is also effective for acne and oily hair as well as itchy and cracked skin. Lavender's fragrance has a calming and relaxing effect. Its scent is sweet, balsamy, flowery-woodsy, and light.

Lemon myrtle oil has been found to be an excellent antibacterial, and anti-fungal; In fact, some studies show greater results than the better known tea tree. Lemon Myrtle contains citral, the component responsible for its "lemony" scent. In fact 90-97% citral, lemon essential oil only contains about 3-10% citral. It is then safe to say that Lemon Myrtle essential oil is 10-30 times more "lemony" than lemon itself, and bugs don't like that.

From 100 kilos of rosemary in bloom one kilogram of strong, clean and potent Rosemary essential oil is made. Its aroma is woodsy, herb-like, and similar to lavender. The astringent and antiseptic properties of rosemary oil stimulate tissue circulation, the metabolism of the skin, and lymph flow. Rosemary oil plays an important role in stimulating cell renewal. It improves dry or mature skin, eases lines and wrinkles, and heals burns and wounds. It can also clear acne, blemishes or dull, dry skin by fighting bacteria and regulating oil secretions. It improves circulation and can reduce the appearance of broken capillaries and varicose veins. Rosemary oil is also helpful in treating cellulite.

Woodsy, earthy, & balsamy sweet, Patchouli essential oil is anti-inflammatory, toning, antiseptic, fungicidal and stimulates cell generation. Patchouli has long been a favorite oil. It is a very effective aphrodisiac that promotes increased feelings of desire. It helps with the formation of scar tissue and acts to heal skin problems. Patchouli oil is useful for fungal and bacterial infection; it helps for insect bites and makes a great insect repellent. It has diuretic properties, therefore helpful for water retention, cellulite, constipation and overweight. It has a deodorizing action, and helps when feeling hot and bothered. Patchouli oil helps to cool down inflammations and assists with wound healing, scars and sores; it gives relief from acne, eczema and scalp disorders. It is very effective with inflamed or cracked skin due to its regenerative properties. It is a gentle oil and helpful with mature or aged skin. It aids in the resolution of wrinkles and aging. Patchouli oil can also assist with stress related conditions and anxiety.

Peppermint essential oil fights bacterial infection and reduces the oiliness present with acne and blemishes. It stimulates circulation and helps enliven dull, dry skin. Peppermint oil also regulates and normalizes oily skin and hair. It constricts capillaries and minimizes the redness of broken capillaries and varicose veins. Peppermint oil leaves the skin feeling soft and silky.
